Roger Ford
2003/03 Subaru WRX with dealer-fitted Prodrive Power Pack (267hp) Still for sale - was £8495 now £7995 World Rally Blue Full Main Dealer Service History Removable tow bar Prodrive Lowered Spring Kit (fitted by PowerStation) Geometry set up by PowerStation Upgraded Blaupunkt Hi-Fi with MP3 capability and iPod/MP3 player accessory input (original unit supplied) Upgraded front speakers in original locations New front disks and pads fitted at 35,000 mile service New tyres all round at 35,000 miles WRX number plate This is a good, straight, un-messed with car. Apart from the sensible mods listed above, it is completely standard, unlike many Scoobies. It has been 100% reliable, with the exception of warped disks replaced a few months out of warranty. I did four track days early on in the car's life, where I figured out the need for the Prodrive sprint kit and Pagid brake pads (supplied - standard ones were fitted with the new disks but I still have the Pagids). After making these mods I bought the Caterham, and the Scooby has never been on track since. It has spent 90% of it's life on, motorways, normally towing the Caterham which obviously does not stress it at all. The bodywork is not perfect. There a couple of 1/2 inch stonechips on the air scoop, and there are scuffs on three corners and the rear bumper. Nothing too serious though. NB. scuffs now touched up - car is cleaned and polished and looking really nice. Any inspection welcomed. The car is in Twickenham, West London. Roger Ford
Photos Paintwork close-ups Forget to mention above that it's just had the major 5th year / 60,000 mile service, including cam belt change. Cost was £480, and should be considered when looking at other similar cars approaching that age or mileage. Roger Ford
I now have the yellow nose cone but was able to avoid parting with the Scooby in exchange. My new S-Max has been confirmed for 1st March delivery, so I'm keen to sell it fairly soon. Can't really beat this for high-powered, reliable four-door family motoring.
