Help me build a luggage rack

[S7 RMP]

I know there are not expensive but boys with toys must keep busy and have decided to save a bit of petrol and fag money and try to put something together. What I need are some photos of the said beast so I can see how it fits to the car etc and some rough dimensions would be handy. Of course if anyone is selling one for £10 - £15 it would save me the job.

I built one from an old garden chair - one of the folding steel tube frame ones. One of the hoops was the same width as the spare wheel carrier and of course theres an other bit that fits inside it to rest the luggage on, and fold up when not needed (not really necessary though).

 

Very simple. Just need a drill and some bolts. I didn't paint it - just wrapped a roll of black electrical tape over it to stop it scratching anything.

 

Worked fine for 3000 miles round Italy.
