reminds me of the first week at work (that was when they sent 9 years down pit).

Jimmy is standing at his bench, Sam, a new "lad" is looking at the engine of a new MGA.

Jimmy gives out a scream, turns round clutching his right hand with his left and blood running down his apparantly injured hand.

"Quick Sam, run over to the chemist and get some Tampax for a big cut"

Sam duly sprints out of the garage, across Curzon St to the chemist. Jimmy puts the tin of red paint back in the cupboard.

He returned with a red cheek from a slap from the girl in the chemist. He never quite worked out why.
