Phil
What is improved weather gear please, I have noticed on some cars for sale that the doors seem to have soft flexible pockets were your elbows touch and mine are hard, what is the difference and are mine improved or old style, what are the improvements, also what is the difference in an improved visibility windscreen over a standard one. My 1700ss 1990 has a boot cover, soft top with rear screen with a zip to undo the rear flexible window. Thanks for any help given.
greg
If your doors have a "flap" then its the old style. If your doors have a hard bulge they are increased vis doors. No idea about the windscreen - I thought they were all the same. Greg, Q 880 RAE (Green/Ali XF)
robmar
I think also the hood designed changed with the later ones having clear sectionas on the sides just aft of the doors rob
greg
Rob, My old style hood has the 3/4 windows - well I think it has I've not used it in a year :-) Greg, Q 880 RAE (Green/Ali XF)
Phantom Menace
I hired a car last year and it had the old style Weather gear. My new Cat has the new kit and it makes a significant difference. The rear visibility is greatly enhanced. thumbsup.gif
Old Septimus
My "new" hood (1979 vintage) has side windows (or did when I last used it in 1986). I think you have to go back to Series 2 or even Series 1 not to have them.
Morls
I think the main difference with the "Hi-Vis" stuff is the taller doors. This means us abnormal, (taller than Colin Chapman), people can look through the door windows rather than have to put chin on steering wheel to look out the side, which is impossible with harnesses on. The holes on the side of a Hi-Vis hood are bigger to suit the taller doors. Mark
