Simon.Rogers1
I spoke to Mel today and Kumho have run out of stock! So it looks like you'll have only one wheel on your wagon Mr D You'll need to swap one of those 235's from side to side depending on track direction. 😬 They are air freighting some over from Korea apparently. Mel is to speak with them tomorrow so I'll keep you informed. I suggest anyone who wants anything posts it here even if your not paying up till later. This way I can make some noise I've got mine! Still waiting for my medium rears though. Oh yeh up to 215 all round Danny!
Paul Gibb
Thanks to Simon & Mel I already have my 235 medium rears (K60) and am looking forward to receiving the softs rears once the plane touches down! Mark D don't worry ,if there's a problem you can you can use my last years soft 175's on the back . They are only just buffed up L7 FUN
rgrigsby
Simon I'll definetly be looking for a set of 215 fronts and 235 rears in soft compound so you can add my name to the list. Any idea how much of a difference in rake there is between running 215/235 compared with 175/215? Cheers Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
Simon.Rogers1
5mm So probably 3mm between the usual measuring points. That just might curb your style a bit 😬

Irrelevant
What wheels are you lot using 215 fronts using? 6" or 6.5" isn't wide enough, or is it
Simon.Rogers1
7.5" Mark is doing 1/2" on either side and i'm going 1" on the outer rim only.
Paul Gibb
Hello Mark , As usual I am planning to do most of the sprints this year but will probably end up doing only two or three . Hope to see you at Goodwood but a bit worried about the noise my car makes ticking over . Simon , Mrs gibb says that Mel is all mouth and no trousers bit like me really which is probably why she finds him so attractive 😳 🥰. robmar
I was going to order 2 * 235, for my rears as my fronts are hardly touched from the 4 events last year
Simon.Rogers1
Rob. I'm putting my old rears on the front this year as they have plenty left.
neil.cavanagh
I'll be orderd 2x 175 and 2x 215 all in soft shortly.... Don't know how anyone has any rubber left on theirs from last season as mine are not even close to legal... maybe it is the extra weight I carry??? 😬 😬 😬
robmar
my plan is to stick with the narrower fronts and see how they go as well rob

GTD
I'll be orderd 2x 175 and 2x 215 all in soft shortly.... as well... On the basis these'll work on my bog standard 13" wheels! I refuse to be pigeon-holed - well, not on the first date anyway
neil.cavanagh
martin... quite possibly true!! 😬 😬 Or maybe it was that last session on them at the Pembrey track day! They get VERY sticky after 3 laps....
Don
Do you think one set of soft rears will last the season? Ours only just lasted. Is it worth having two sets and hope the rules don't change again next season if the second set isn't used?
Simon.Rogers1
My 215's lasted easily. I did only 12 road miles and no trackday miles on them. 235's should be the same or better! Just received conf from Mel - everything in stock other than 235 soft 😔 We have already started jumping up and down and its likely that they will be air freighted in
Support Team Shaun_E Posted January 29, 2008 Support Team Share Posted January 29, 2008 Linda - Roland did do a trackday on them as well so no wonder they didn't last! Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
Simon.Rogers1
OK bit of bad news for Class 5. There are no 235's in either Medium or soft in stock or due in the next couple of weeks even. A couple of you have sent me cheques for a set including some of the above. Do you want me to go ahead so that you get the fronts (whilst they have them 😔) or wait until they get the rears. I would say go for it now. But what if the 235's do not arrive for a while. You will only have a half set and you could go for something else. Its your money. Myself and Mel are trying to express our concern over the lack of stock. I would however say that we didn't buy this size last year so they were not aware.
swifta
Simon, I will wait as I,d like a full set.I did ask if they were in stock when I ordered as I know other dealers were expecting delivery in February.
Simon.Rogers1
As per my earlier post Kumho Motorsport UK did inform Mel on Thursday of last week that they had the mediums in stock. Seems like not! Do you want me to dispose of the cheque?
