bobt
Hi, I noticed whilst adjusting the coolant fan 'on' temperature through the Emerald software that the temp indicated by the ECU was always just over 4 degrees higher than that indicated by my digital SPA dual gauage. They both take their reading from the same point in the circuit so which one is likely to be more accurate? Thanks Rob
Mick Day
They're probably both wrong! I get the same with my SPA & GEMS. It doesn't really matter.
Peter Carmichael
If you have a K3, you can input a calibration curve for the sensor. Most fuel injection system sensors have defined characteristics which you can find if you search hard enough. Temp sensors tend not to be linear in response. The default Emerald curve is a straight line.
Irrelevant
There's a DTA forum somewhere, no time to find it now, but it has loads of data on the common sender curves. Have a Google for it.

bobt
Thanks guys I'll look into this. Mick, you say that they're probably both wrong, but I'd hoped that the SPA was the more accurate. Thanks Rob
