Dry sump threads

JIC threads are imperial (or at least American) UNF threads. BSP threads are still used on many dry sump unions as they are very cheap. The male unions normally have a recessed face on BSP fittings and a projecting (pointed) face on JIC. The JIC sizes(-10 etc) give the nominal bore of the hose in 1/16ths of an inch but the actual fittings have a UNF thread.
