Mrs Kipper
Ok, so here goes - head above the parapet, can of worms etc etc Just spoken to BMTR and they don't have and they don't know if they are going to get any more Stunners (yes, I know this has already been done to death). So,if we don't have Stunners as the IA tyre of choice, what's it to be for next year???????? Do we wait for the Autosport show in January and do a trawl of all the tyre stands? Or does someone have any inside information on a suitable and affordable alternative? Or do I buy some Khomo's and go up to class 3 😳 Kipper Fun is not a straight line. Area Representative Richard Price Posted October 8, 2007 Area Representative Share Posted October 8, 2007 Yes, I'm sure Kipper Jr. would love to play in class 3 (I hope my Stunners will see out another year - I'm driving around on my original 14" ZV1's at the moment)

FlymoFraser
I was going to suggest trying pneus- online but in the last week they have withdrawn all sizes of Scudos from the web site. ☹️ Has anyone tried Toyo T1Rs?
robmar
is the lack of stunners, due to the fact that they have realized the errors of there way and should have classed them as 1b, due to the fact they have more grip than any other list 1b tyre 😬
Mark Durrant
Rumour has it the Comp sec wants to ban Stunners next year as they are no longer available so that it is a level playing field 😳 my source was TM 😬

Dannyboy
Well....Mr Cummings seems to be acquiring quite a number of stunners at the moment....he could become the new distributor 😬 😬 😬 For a good price I could take the car out in order to scrub the remaining life out of my old tyres before he gets them 😳 Now....me and Kipper Jr in class 3...Could be fun 😬 😬 😬 😬 Dannyboy

Colin Heseltine
Would not want to stand in the way of Kippers (Senior and Junior) along with Dannyboy moving to Class3. Always thought there were too many cars in Class2 😬 Colin
Roger Cumming
Now Mr Malkin you take great care of that rubber *wink* and we want no talk of banning stunners next year.....2009 may be 😬 😬 😬 Just for the record and i know some of you have heard all this before, but Marangoni stopped bringing them in because they had recieved too many complaints from normal road users that they wore out too quickly. Hence you can not get them unless some stockist has got some lying about. Second choice; well I used Toyo Ti-R's last year after quite some research last winter. They loose out to the stunner when cold but there is not much in it at the end of a long run. Hence Curborough not so good....but you can get them in 14inch, they are less than £50 and they do suit the seven.....Dan drove mine at Curby, what do you think my boy????????? Dannyboy
Well...having tried rogers car, although the tyres were warm, I'd say there was no difference, or perhaps the Toyos had slightly more grip than the stunners when warm...can't comment on them from cold! And..they haven't moved much since getting back from Wiscombe Roger!! 😬 😬 So they still have around 5mm ish of tread on them! Plenty for at least another season 😬 😬 😬 😬 Dannyboy
david nelson
I have been inpressed with the stunners now they have done a few miles. Just can not beleave how grippy they are. I think they are better than the kumho from cold but not as good once hot. David
apjenkins
Kipper(s) Bought a set of Stunners from BTMR last week.............In stock......... .no problem. £28 each & £13.50 carriage. Mrs Kipper
Andrew All I can say is that you are a very lucky boy and must have snapped up the last set in the country. FlymoFraser
So if the stunners are dead is it Zeta Linea as next choice? R287 Mobile Jaffa Cake- It's black at both ends with a smashing orangey bit in the middle here
Mattj
Stunners are easy to get and plentiful if you know the super-secret password 😬 I hear the Linea's are rather soft, going for a tyre change Neil?

Dannyboy
Hmm...I've got Rob Spencers barely used Zeta Linea's fitted to my tin top and to be honest..not that impressed! I think A539's or the Toyo's may become the tyre of choice! Dannyboy
