bobt
Hi, you say the front wings are for 15/16" stays. So are there wings (not stays) for different sized wheels then? ie these would be different to wings on a 13" wheeled car? Cheers Rob
rj
The wings are longer too. Fitted to a 13" wingstay it looks a bit odd, but does protect the rear wing and sideskin better against stonechips... /r
sjmmarsh
Rob There are two types of wing stays. 13/14" and 15/16". The latter are slightly longer to get the larger wheels under them. For larger wheels, the curvature of the wheel is slightly less than smaller ones, so that the gap between the wheel and the wing is constant around the edge. These are 15/16" wings, so if you use them on 13/14" stays they will end up lower at the back (as RJ says) which is not a bad thing, and the gap between the wheel and the wing will be slightly less at the top of the wheel than it is at the front and rear edges of the wing. N1ck
Steve, are these wings produced by Caterham or another supplier of carbon parts? Regards, Nick.
sjmmarsh
Nick I am not sure who made them as I picked them up second hand on Ebay. They look identical in shape to the fibreglass ones on my 7 and are the 'bare' carbon finish, rather than having an obvious layer of resin over the fibre.
