FREE Philips Noise Reducing Headphones

shn7

Recommended Posts

Bought for about £15 off ebay to try in the Seven. Failed miserably to combat the noise of my straight cut gearbox but may be useful for air travel perhaps.

On/off and volume controls. Soft rubber earpieces. Powered by a single AAA battery. Suppied in soft pouch. No original packaging.

Model SBC HN060.

Donation to NtL if you wish.

I went down the sane route and started with a set of phones from Maplins (Altec Lansing?) at about £30. Kept breaking them.

Now use Bose headphones which are *eek* expensive (model 2 better than the smaller model 3 and a bit cheaper) but good and do not have a separate battery box connected by wire. That and earplugs makes even long journeys comfortable. It still 'sounds' loud until you turn the earphones off. You can also still hear everyting else going on so don't think ther should be any safety issues.

Yes, basically there's a little mic that picks up background noise then plays the negative of that so as to cancel it out (OK don't understand the technicalities but that's the numpty explanation).

So you can use it on its own, or with music.

In the 7 it also has the BIG advantage that it helps keep your baseball cap on *thumbup* 😶‍🌫️
