Wile7
Having been through most of the electronic system replacing bits I am now after the following for my 1700 crossflow (1996) please: Lucas hydraulic brake switch (I bought one off Ebay but the thread is too large - I think that it was a mini unit so if anyone wants one you can have it!) A VDO Tacho (electronic) for a ford 4 cyl car Many thanks. Dave Dave Ardley. White Xflow with Clams The Bearded Clams King Clam Of Clam Hill! F355GTS
Well I am online now but been to Banbury and back so we need a whole new cunning plan Mark
strongy
Dave, I upgraded from a hydraulic switch to an electric one off the brake pedal in the pedal box. Much more reliable, people behind can see when I brake now *thumbup* Dry-sumped White Supersprint Webshots here
markc
Strongy Do you have any pics of the install - where does it mount ? I bought one of these switches the other day when I realised that the brake lights only worked when you stamped on the peddle. MarkC
strongy
I mounted mine on the cross member that both the clutch and brake pedal pivot from. Just a matter of drilling a hole for a small self-tapper, I'll search for a photo Dry-sumped White Supersprint Webshots here

strongy
Just found this pic on google *idea* Just a tip make sure the switch is mounted "forward" enough so that it is not fouled by the clutch pedal when it is depressed (or cheerful for that matter) Hope this helps Dry-sumped White Supersprint Webshots here
Wile7
Thanks for the story chaps 😬 Glad you got it all sorted. I just can not be arsed with the extra hassle right now although it looks like a good conversion Strongy Mark - let us work out another cunning plan then. My problem is trying to get out of this place.... Dave Ardley. White Xflow with Clams The Bearded Clams King Clam Of Clam Hill!
