Keith Henson Posted April 30, 2002 Share Posted April 30, 2002 Just a quick question. I am off for my first track day - Cadwell next Tuesday. Having read club threads etc. reference was made to fitting an oil overflow catch tank thingy - available from Caterham. When I asked there, I was told that there was no need to fit one to my 1.8 Rover K series since there was not a problem with oil being discharged from these units. I hope this is correct since I did not purchase one (even if I did know how to fit it - which I don't) but am having second thoughts now! Obviously the last thing I want to do is to leak oil onto the track (for both my own & other participants benefit)and I certainly do not want to be barred from the circuit as a result of the car not being up to spec!! John Howe Posted April 30, 2002 Share Posted April 30, 2002 Keith, catch tanks are used with a dry sump set up... if you have a dry sump, then you will already have a catch tank!
