MartinT
Hello, I am about to sell my crossflow after replacing it with a Raceline Zetec and would appreciate some help with piecing together its original internals; before I delve into the oily bits. Its an Arrowstar built, (Yes I know.... but it has been refreshed/rebuilt professionally a couple of years ago) and known as their 160bhp spec 1800cc AX block. Question is as Arrowstar no longer exist I am unable to verify the internals, does anyone have experience or knowledge of this spec?? Thanks Martin
Graham Perry
Its possible that Roger King may have built it as he worked there for a while iirc.
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted September 16, 2007 Area Representative Share Posted September 16, 2007 Don't think he worked at Arrowstar but as part of SPR, he worked alongside Pippa of Arrowstar fame who was the "P" in the name.
Graham Perry
Nick, yes you are correct, it was SPR back then for Roger King built engines. In that case not sure who built the Arrowstar engines, sorry.
Pezky
Roger King also built for Arrowstar (well he built mine) Have you still got the parts invoice?
MartinT
Afraid I don't have the parts invoice, only a summary spec that was provided when the car was last sold. Couple of invoices from Arrowstar for valves/bearings for last rebuild but nothing about cam spec etc...:-(
Roger King
I must admit that I don't ever remember building any engines for Arrowstar. I'll check my invoices just in case they did get me to do one. If it's one of mine the engine number will be either on the top face of the block on the little ledge that sticks out on the exhaust side or on the rear face of the block above the bellhousing and it will begin with 'VR'. MartinT
Thanks Roger, wish it was one of yours but it has an engine nunber that begins with RAT . Spoke with Ratrace before I bought the car and they confirmed it was not one of theirs. Martin
