NevDyson Posted September 1, 2007 Share Posted September 1, 2007 The rebuild is now gaining momentum, with the Chassis sat in Bruces workshop, and AMMO giving excellant advice on the Duratec (massive thumbs up to both Bruce and AMMO for excellant advice and discussion) So fuel tank !!!! I am going to change it for an injection model rather than fitting an external swirl pot, and seem to remember some very satisfied customers that have fitted Andy Wiltshire tanks. I am considering fitting a long range tank, but want to know which fuel pump to go for 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔. I want to have it fitted internally into the tank, which I think Andy has done in the past with differant types of pumps. What are other Duratec convertee's using ????? rgrigsby Posted September 1, 2007 Share Posted September 1, 2007 I'm using the Caterham uprated "R500" fuel pump, I think it's the one of a Rover 220 Turbo. mav Posted September 1, 2007 Share Posted September 1, 2007 In that case it may be more cost effective to enquire about the pump / sender combo they fit to the CSR, and possibly the sigma cars then, as that is an all in one top of the tank fitting... From what I have read in previous posts he can prety much make what you need, and I understand he has done some bespoke work for some of the BEC's with pumps being supplied by the customer. I only intend running AMMO's 215 spec Engine, but as always there may well be some upgrades at a later date. 😳 😳 Cheers for the replies ..... dannylt Posted September 3, 2007 Share Posted September 3, 2007 I have the uprated pump in my Duratec and having a few fuel pressure issues. Sustained full throttle causes the occasional fuel pressure alarm. Could just be a tired pump or other issue though, and only seems to happen at Spa.
