p.greenlees Posted April 28, 2002 Share Posted April 28, 2002 Could anybody answer a simple question? I just picked up my Second hand caterham from Caterham in Surrey at the Weekend. I paided for the front, Rear wings & nose cone to match the same colour as the bonnet etc. I drove home to Bath (approx 120 miles) and found that on the rear wheelarches there was lots of chips approx 6-10 on each side, next to the carbon protectors. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN SO QUICKLY? I used to have a caterham from new 2 years ago & had it a year, there was not one chip on the wheel arches when I sold it! What should I do? The car I bought from Caterham recently is 3 years old and in absolutely mint condition except for the rear wheel arches next to the protectors. On the test drive I noticed that stones were thrown at the rear arches even at walking pace. This is due to the sticky tyres the car has. I did a quick inspection of other cars at the showroom and they all had this problem. First, sticky-backed plastic the same colour as the paint (I actually found the plastic first then painted the car to match!) Second mudflaps on the front wings. Very little problem with stonw chips and a lot cheaper than armourfend. Small Boy - with Loud Toy!
