MSA Logbook Required for Class 6?

Oooh .. is that a new rule?

You must present your L7CGB membership card, MSA licence (otherwise MSA £45.00 fine has to be levied !!) and MSA official log book (If the car is currently licensed for use on the road and competing in a road legal condition OR if it is currently used in circuit racing and is entered in an event on an occasional basis only this is NOT needed. Please bring documentary proof of circuit racing e.g. a recent race programme).

Slicks not being particularly road legal, I think you may have a problem there. Although it doesn't actually say where it has to be road legal for *tongue*

Have to say I've not noticed that rule before - pretty sure that the rule used to be no log book required if the car was currently registered for use on the road.

The blue book rule is L9.1.7:

9.1.7. All cars competing in Hill Climbs or Sprints must

be presented for scrutineering with a valid MSA Log

Book or an MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity

Document unless the car is currently licensed for use

on the public highway and is competing in a road legal

condition or is currently used in circuit racing and is

entered in an event on an occasional basis only. The

onus of proof rests with the competitor.

And a V5 is certainly an "MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity Document" so you'd be OK against that, just not under the one in the SRs.

Suggest you come and nab my blue book if anyone queries use of a V5!
