Phil
Everyone goes on about the best tyres for 13inc wheels but I have the prisoner rims and would like to know what to buy next time for the best road use grip please. Can not afford to go and buy a new set of wheels just yet but may consider this for the best results all round. Thanks 1700ss 1990 de dion
Paul Turner
Phil Depends whether the tyes need to comply with MSA sprint regs or are only for road and maybe trackday use. If they need to be on the MSA list 1A it is probably one of the Bridgestone tyres i.e RE720, SO2 (if you can find any) or SO3 , expect to pay between £45 and £65. If they are in the second category you can probably get the soft Yokohamas in 15" sizes but they will certainly cost more than the same type in 13", it maybe no more expensive to buy 13" rims and tyres to fit. I currently have RE720's on Prisoners, they are OK for a tyre of their type but I would never use them if I did not need to comply with MSA lists, I would use something like 13" Yoko A021's, there is no contest on grip and comfort.
