Geoff Johnson
I can probably order one from caterham, but it would be more convenient to get one from Camberley Auto factors etc. Does anybody know if Unipart, or one of the other parts companies does the correct size, if so do you also know the part number or what I should ask for??? Many thanks Geoff
Andrew Russell
Champion C116 or Halfords HOF238 or TJ FB5300, or an equivalent. Any good Motor Factor will be able to cross reference. Originally fitted to a Renault 4 if I recall. Andrew
Blatman
HOF238 is what I use on my Vx. I've never looked to see if it has a non return valve though. If it doesn't, is there an equivalent filter which doesquestion.gif
stevefoster
Unipart GFE210 is another. Partco do Unipart. Not sure about the return valve. I have one in my hand. What does it look like? I thought they were all designed to fail on flow not shut off.... Edited by - stevefoster on 26 Apr 2002 19:07:
Blatman
I was interested 'cos my filter is remotely mounted, and it drains.........
stevefoster
If it's remote then you can fit a larger filter than the tiddly GFE210. More weight tho'.
Blatman
Ta, but remote is fitted in front of crank pulley, so space is still an issue................ A posting on the WSCC Boardroom has a suggestion that the HOF238 has been discontinued. I'll be off to my local Halfords later to see if this is true and report back later............. Blatman
HOF238 has been discontinuedsad.gif However, a HOF266 (as fitted to Renault 5's, 9's and 11's) seems to be excatly the same, and is currently fitted to the Green Meenieid=limegreen> . I'll find out for sure on Saturday (at Brooklands) if it's going to leak.......... Edited by - Blatman on 2 May 2002 10:13:
