Wile7
Alright, alright...settle down at the back. Me is here - broke my own record for calais -toulouse in an empty LWB Merc sprinter (managed 8 hours 10 ) but knackered....... .....and my car blew up (electronically speaking) on the Ilminster bypass at rush-hour *eek* *mad* The whole loom just welded together and went 'phut' - what a stink and what a scare!! Manged to get it flat bedded to my mums and had a quick look. Looks like either the Vecta black box went up in smoke (I was having some problems with it) or some chaffing on some wires that past through the steeering column hole near the pedal box.......whatever - the car is dead ☹️ ☹️ ☹️ Dave Ardley. strongy
Dave, does it have a battery cut-off switch? Sometimes those resistors get mighty hot and could melt through and short any wires in the near vicinity? Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted August 20, 2007 Author Area Representative Share Posted August 20, 2007 Wile - Repairing the white 7 - if you don't have up to date knowledge of 7-capable garages in Somerset or decent auto-electricians you might call/e-mail Paul Jacobs who is the AO in Somerset. I was talking to him on the Welsh mega-blat and he lives in Taunton and has had at different times, several 7s, a 21 and now has a CSR, been in Taunton for ages (went to Queens) and been the AO down there for a long time. I am sure he would have decent contacts. GJT Crossflow 524 returned to Arch for correction
