Quieter K-Series exhaust system

Full exhaust system sought for K series supersport. Need something quieter than the standard single pipe system for track days. Car is at 101db @ 4500 rpm at the moment so looking for something that will give me 97-98ish.

Ideally you need to look for a competition system with primaries that exit the bodywork (you'll need ot cut a bigger hole) and then into a collector (either 4 -1 or 4-2-1), this will release a small amount of power but more importantly much better mid range torque and drivability. If nothing turns up secondhand then talk to Dave at Powerspeed (www.powerspeed.co.uk, he'll make one for you at a fair price

Thanks Mark - spoke to Powerspeed about a week ago and they have a 6 week lead time; if they could deliver sooner I'd have just ordered one but I thought I'd try my luck here in the meantime.

Caterham should have something available that exactly meets your requirements shortly - it'll be considerably cheaper than replacing the whole system.

2) Ric. How much were you quoted for a Powerspeed system?

I was quoted £695 for the Powerspeed system (4-2-1). I suspect this is +VAT but I forgot to ask. Noise level built to my specification.

 

Interested to know what Caterham have in the pipeline as well (and when).

At £695 I think I shall eke out the current system until i need to weld the welds
