Exhaust cleaning/polishing

Recommended Posts

After some use over the last few days and last weekend the 4:1 primaries and alloy heat shield are showing signs of discolouring and dullness. Anybody got some good ideas on how to polish up easliy without dismantling and what stuff if any to use? I'm sure this will have been covered before somewhere but can't locate the threads.

Cheers

Save yourself a lot of graft - yellow pages 'metal polishers'

They call using a buffing machine 'The Black Art' and you'll understand why when you see the guy who does the polishing.

This is the only way to get a mirror finish without killing yourself in the process - and it will last, if you keep on top of it subsequently.

I used metal finishing pads made by 3M brown colour(homebase )its a bit like the green washing up pads. you can cut it into strips to pass round the pipes then its down to the good old Autosol and elbow grease wear gloves if you want to stay clean.Neil
