Debert
On this day in 1917 – Sqn Cdr E.H. Dunning landed a Sopwith Pup on board Furious, the first deck-landing on a ship under way. He was killed later that day making a third attempt, proving the old adage, “if at first you succeed, stop!” *arrowright*Get a Mosaic Poster of YOUR car and help Nuke the Leuk here *arrowright*Pictures here

Debert
On this day in 1945– Submarines Tiptoe and Trump attacked a Japanese convoy in Java Sea North of Sunda Strait. Trump sank the largest ship (6,000 tons) at 1650. At 1845 Tiptoe sank the next largest (4,000 tons) and gained the distinction of having fired the last effective torpedo by a British submarine in the Second World War. I wonder what the LAST "enemy" ship our wonderful Navy managed to sink was (Self inflicted damage made the press last year) 😔 *arrowright*Get a Mosaic Poster of YOUR car and help Nuke the Leuk here *arrowright*Pictures here
