Trackday noise limits

I'm booked onto the BookaTrack day at Goodwood this coming Monday and they have a noise limit of 98db. I've got a standard superlight 1600 but have no idea what sort of noise level it will produce. As far as I can see it's got the standard single exit pipe, catalyst and silencer.

 

Anybody know the answer? Anyone know how I can make it (temporarily) a little quieter if I need to?

It'll probably be abot 96db at 4,250 revs, least that what most of the 7's came out at a few weeks ago. When they ask oyu where the red line is tell them 6,000, hence the 4,250 check any more and you may have problems

 

Also make sure the engine/ oil is hot

 

And finally they will sell or rent you a supertrap to fit on the end of the exhaust if it's too loud

You should be ok with a standard 1600 SL although I'm by no means certain.

Mike, you may or may not get under 98db without the supertrap, I reckon you'll def get under with it though.

 

Without it my 1400rs is bang on 98db, and with the supertrap its between 91 and 93db

Your car is presumably a SS exhaust Sean? I would reckon you would be OK Mike but noise tests are very strange!
