I reply to every thread
I am interested I will give him a call but the price seems very high for a 2nd hand cage - Has he enquired about the price of a new one? Not far off what he's asking.
rgrigsby
A new Caged SLR style cage is the best part of £850 inc vat I believe, maybe even a little bit more. Cheers Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com

Rob Walker
Aves, I think the point to bear in mind is that you can no longer buy the safety devices cages and these are the only hooped cage that will fit both the early and late chassis without removing the side skins to have the front four threaded bushes welded into the top chassis rail. This makes them desirable as it is much easier to remove the cage and revert to a standard roll bar without re-skinning the car. I think you will find that £500+ is the going rate. Irrelevant
removing the side skins to have the front four threaded bushes welded into the top chassis rail Side skins do not need removing . . . just inner panels and scuttle. They then sink bushes in from the inside. If you have it done with no sideskins on, they do a better job though. Agree that getting bosses fitted is still hastle - which is what makes Safety Devices SLR cages more valuable than Caged ones, i.e. bigger market, cheaper to fit.
