Length of engine mount bolts

Can anyone tell me what length the engine mount bolts are that go into the left hand side of the block, please? And just for completeness, what spec (12.9, 10.8, etc.)?

Engine is a K-series.

I could check but will need to remove a bolt to do this which as you know is easier said than done. Is this the reason why your engine had dropped on the N/S.

Mark - yes it is. So I did MIRA without the LHS engine mount attached . See you at the weekend.

 

I now know they are M10 X 30mm but still trying to find which spec. All the other bolts into the block appear to be 12.9 so I will get some of those from my local fastener comapny. Failing that I'll call Caterham but I really want to get them today so I can fit tonight.

Cheers Peter - I've just picked up some M10x30mm in 12.9 - is that likely to cause a problem?

Also what is the best way to stop them coming out again? Loctite? Spring washers?

Higher strength is no problem. Use Loctite if you rev it higher that 7000 RPM. 😬

Thanks - I'll fit the ones I've got tonight and use Loctite. (It certainly revs to over 7000 😬)

Funny how they only started to fall out once Gill started sprinting 😳, probably due to her bouncing it off the rev limiter
