Alternator for 1994 1400ss

I managed to break mine early on Sat morning at Dunsfold.

One of the bolts that hold the alternator together came loose, shot forward, fouled the fan and broke the casing. *thumbdown*

Cheers

Thanks for the swift reply.

I've just been down to the garage to have a look but as the damaged unit is still in the car I can't quite see the conection type. (there is a black plastic cover plate on the back of the alternator)

I'll try and take it off at the weekend and blatmail you if mine is the plug type.

Thanks again.

The engine's the same as mine so there's a good chance it will have the same alternator fitted.

Really appreciate that, thanks.

Assuming it's the same type and working, how much would you want for it?

That's very kind indeed *thumbup*

I'll send a donation to NTL unless there is another charity you would prefer.

What do you reckon it weighs? About 4 or 5 kgs?

If so it looks like standard Royal Mail parcel delivery service should be less than £10. Would it be ok if I send you a cheque for £12? That should cover insurance up to £100 then as well.

What address should I send the cheque to?

I will send it to you tommorrow.

All the best

Adam,

Its on its way, I included the mounting bolts as it sounds like one of yours could be stuffed.

Wile7 I agree with you its a great club, I have just managed to change my 1400ss to 1800ss which is something I would have never have dreamt of doing without the help of Blatchat. 😬 *thumbup*

Just got home and the alternator was waiting for me at my neighbours who had kindley accepted it from Parcel Force as I was out.

Just wanted to say a big thanks again for this Jason.

Upon first inspection it looks just the same as mine so I'm confident it should fit ok.

A cheque to NTL will be on it's way soon and if we ever meet there'll be a couple of pints with your name on them *thumbup*

I hope the cheque arrived today too.

Cheers.
