combine
Has anyone bought this stuff ,is it worth it as an upgrade , it looks nice ! 😬
Blade Runner
Don't go to CC at the moment they are out of stock of upper wishbones . I've been trying for the last two weeks . I was wondering how many people can't drive / race their cars because of this. You would have thought CC would pull there finger out and get stocked. MikeW
Looks nice but not convinced it does much on the performance front MikeW Mega Grad Race No
Adrian Bruce
Wide Track does help improve turn-in. Why not go the whole hog and get yourself a Freestyle front end with inboard suspension as well
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted May 12, 2007 Leadership Team Share Posted May 12, 2007 Wide track does help improve turn-in, and so does narrow track if set up the same as the wide track, rather than as per the build manual. I bought it for may last car though 😬 When I bought, Demon Tweeks were actually cheaper than Caterham but I'm not sure if it was just a querk in the pricing at the time. Stu. www.superse7ens.co.uk..........the rebuild 😬
combine
Will check demon's prices now you've said that .
Obz
"Turn in" would be improved by replacing the casr iron boat anchor you have in the front of the car with a nice little K series
combine
Thats a very unkind word on the vx motor which some on here love to bits ! Point taken . 😬
Rob Walker
The gains to be had are very small IMHO, I would save or spend my money on some other upgrade. If you bend the car and the wish bones have to be replaced it could make sense to change to WT.
combine
Will take your advice and keep the £399 .
Delberts Wallet
I thought that wide track was a worth while upgrade on a VX powered car Gareth Blue and Carbon 6 Speed Supersport here
ECR
I certainly noticed an improvement on my VX (although mine is a non standard fully rosejointed set up)
duffym
I changed mine for widetrack(from freestyle narrow track ) and find the car much more stable on the road (ie less affected by bumpy corners). Turn in is better too. However as my car is an old one a new narrow track setup properly fitted would probably have made some of the improvement anyway. ben7
Trevor, just a note that I ordered a widetrack kit last week and took delivery of the full assembly last Friday, so it looks like CC have stock now. Ben
combine
Ben , would be interested to hear how good your wide track suspension is when you've fitted it as I still think it must be an improvement on my early 90's front end .
