Gentleman Racer

Frying Pan

Recommended Posts

Heading North between M40 J11 (Banbury) and J12 (Gaydon) this morning.

Aston Martin branded covered trailer. Trailer side door was missing, showing a race prepped DB5 / DB6 (could only see the door) inside.

Towcar was a British Racing Green Bentley Turbo.

Classy *cool*

See some pictures of the build here. 12000 miles completed!

The Aston Martin Owners Club held a meeting at Brands on Monday. Bentley and trailer were parked up behind the pits, drawing a few glances away from the Aston V8 Zagato parked a couple of spots along, and the DB4 Zagato just beyond that.

The racer was, I think, a lightweight DB4, one of the RS Williams creations boasting 4.5 litres, 400bhp, and a lot less Wilton carpet and handstitched leather than the normal heavyweight version.

The race the DB4s and V8s ran in was stopped after one lap, the clouds opened, flooded the track, and a pair of Astons bounced off each other leaving one of them almost unrecognisable (the driver OK). Will be costing somebody many times more £££ than a long front at Arch.
