andy_h
I'd like some more width I've 6x13inch Dymag wheels and unless someone has same but wider they'd like to swap two, what's the widest rubber I can safely fit on them? I've currently ACB10's fitted with;- Front 185/50-13 Rear 215/50-13 These will be removed and sold as I don't like the tramlining on the roads, and I don't get to use them on track much (few laps of Llandow in 18months). I've also alloys with Yoko A-021R (185/60-13's allround) which I think are ok but I need more grip at the rear. So.... without going into the huge tyre debate what's the recomendation of make and sizes given the following;- Road and track use Available locally (Micheldever tyres) Not too expensive Last at least 6k miles (virtual miles included 😬) Advise please. Nic Day
and tell me please can you do 205 60 13 and 185 70 13? and how much Winner of the Largest pair in a non SV 7 (Rumble 2003) here
Simon.Rogers1
The tyre sizes are: 175/60HR13 H. M. S. 537 178 170 6 5.5-7.0 954 215/50VR13 H. M. S. 540 226 203 8 7.0-8.0 949 235/45VR13 H. M. S. 536 236 216 9 7.5-9.0 956 Mediums are great on a track day. Softs for sprinting. So far this year they have been quicker than the ACB10 soft compounds were last year. Cost is £65, £75 and £85 incl vat and postage. Cheques made out to my supplier but sent to me and I sort the rest out. If your not sure about the tyre ask a few of the sprint guys who are running them and you will find phrases along the lines of "most confidence inspiring", "progressive", "they drive like slicks on a track day" etc.

Simon.Rogers1
I do not have any in any size. These come direct to you from Kumho. You pay my local Kumho Motorsport Dealer. I make zip. He makes a little. We are all happy. So far we have provided 22 sets of tyres. Simon

Paul McKenzie
175 ..what difference does 1cm width make..as the actress etc -I have a VX like you with 185 Yoko 048's on the front, and at least 1cm on each side of the tread never touches the ground..I could just as well be on 165 Paul Edited by - Paul McKenzie on 9 May 2007 20:46:
andy_h
Paul, You need corner faster 😬 With more than the standard BHP I need all the width I can get. The ideal would be wider rims but I'm stuck with what I've got for now. White road legal 2.0 HPC VX race car 😬
yankeedoodoo
Which Kumho is this? I use the 710 and it is the best tire I have ever found that is still DOT compliant.

S47zz
Notice you were looking for 185/70-13's this is the size I use, only decent tyre in that size that I've discovered are the yoko a021r's. That is unless anyone know's of any other good tyres in this size 🤔 🤔
andy_h
Thanks Dave. Since your post I've been reading up on the R888 and found 'Simply Tyres' via another thread. Looks like I'll be getting some 185/60 front and 205/60 rear. Cheers, Andy White road legal 2.0 HPC VX race car 😬
