grahambiddulph Posted May 1, 2007 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Anyone had trouble with blown head gaskets on caterham 7. (K series engines). Is this an ongoing problem. My car runs great, but after about 100 miles water starts to blow out of expansion bottle. Bleed the system and it will run great for another miles. No water/Oil contamination. CageyH Posted May 1, 2007 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Check for an airlock in the system. Also replace the expansion tank cap. Refill the cooling system, and run the engine at idle, letting the car warm up. Check for all the coolant pipes heating up evenly, after the thermostat has opened.
