neil.cavanagh
Time for a change so my Tintop is up for sale after 6 years good service. 1998 S'reg BMW 540i Touring. 106K miles. I'm only the 2nd owner. Full BMW or Specialist service history. Recently had boths cats and rear air suspension replaced. Both are known to have 5-6 year life so shouldn't go again for another 5 years. Light Green Metallic. 6spd Manual (rare as rocking horse pooh) M-sports suspension Sports seats Sports steering wheel Grey Leather Sat-Nav Dual Climate control. Cruise control Rain sensors Sliding floor in boot (perfect for getting engine in and out). Electric glass sunroof etc etc. Pretty much every option available at the time. Plus a detachable tow bar. 0-60 in 6.2 155mph 4.4L V8 286bhp and LOTS of torques. Has returned 24.5 mpg average in the 90K miles I've had it. Faster than a Caterham above 100mph, even with a trailer on the back. Brilliant tow car, great motorway car, and can beat most sports cars in a straight line. £5,000 (reduced) Edited to add colour and in light of Trev's comments! 😬 Edited by - neil.cavanagh on 26 Apr 2007 15:26:18 Edited by - neil.cavanagh on 1 May 2007 08:53:
Irrelevant
Sliding floor in boot (perfect for getting engine in and out). I think you are getting confused with the Gayman . . . In the BM, the engine is actually in the front under that metal door that oily chaps in overalls open when you take the car to get serviced
ewenm
For a while Neil's BM was twin-engined 😬. I'm not sure if it being that sort of prototype adds to or detracts from the value

Bargain barge... all those horses just waiting to make some poor Porsche Boxster driver to wonder why he just got left behind at the lights..... and Trevor has only driven it a few times and amazingly does have quite a bit of mechanical sympathy, at least for other peoples cars (though not walls). Les Ferdinand
I need a bigger family car for the missus to drive Monday to Friday and me to use as a tow car. I test drove it last Saturday and it's in fantastic condition and the engine is very special and perfect for my needs but the boss didnt like it, says its to big, too fast and too green. women JEB # 9 2006 BookaTrack Caterham Mega Graduates - Top Rookie
