Englishmaninwales
As the subject, 2" or 3" or what? (with a 4:2:1 manifold) Thanks Malcolm
Support Team Shaun_E Posted April 24, 2007 Support Team Share Posted April 24, 2007 There are recommendations on Dave Andrews' K series engine page although there may be more recent experiences available. Rolling road tests have shown that the best configuration for the 1.6/1.8K series is a 4-2-1 manifold with 30-32 inch primaries of 1.5inch diamter and 10-12 inch secondaries of 1.75 inch diameter culminating in a 2.25 inch system, this setup brings large gains in the low and mid range torque without affecting top end power. The Caterham VHPD 4-2-1 system is pretty close to these I think and works very well on my set-up. Mark Durrant
Malcolm I would fit either the standard SLR system or get one made to Dave Andrews spec as both are known to work with the map in mems ECU. Mark D Comp Sec
