duffym Posted April 13, 2007 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I had the same issue on my 1990 DeDion. What front brake pads do you have? If they are standard then fit some mintex front pads to make the front brakes work better than the rear. The part number for the required Mintex pads is MGB533M1144. Available from Caterham, RallyDesign, or any local motorfactors that sells Mintex parts. Expect to pay around £30. Martyn Must Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Same problem with an '89 X-Flow with standard fronts (Spitfire) and M1144 pads. Ital rear axle with drums. The drums work too well when cold! It is a different matter on the track - lots of rear fade and a soft pedal. The cure. An adjustable brake limiting valve fitted recently.
