X-flow specialists in Aylesbury Vale

I managed to seriously knacker my 1700 x-flow at Donnington yesterday (Easter Monday) ☹️. Cockpit began filling with oil smoke half way around a lap so I limped it back. Engine runs but there is a nasty clatter over 3,000rpm. My immediate thoughts are a cracked piston ring, but what ever it is it looks like a re-build (and a pretty big bill *cry*)

Anyway – the reason for the post – can anyone suggest the nearest x-flow specialist to the Oxford/Bicester/Aylesbury area?

Thanks

Tim

Bad luck ☹️

Anyway, may be a bit far south for you, but all my Xflow work has been done by Vulcan Engineering in Uxbridge here

Best of luck getting back on the road quickly... Michael.

Thanks *thumbup* - very interesting - Vulcan are in Hanwell, I live in Ealing about 2 miles away. Unfortunately due to lack of a garage the car lives with my in-laws near Aylesbury. But if I can get the car there, picking it up will be easy. I'll pop down tomorrow and have a chat with them.

The only thing is that they are good engine people, but not 7 specialists, so you would need to get the engine out and down to them, or have someone do that for you.

However, I can vouch for their building a good engine at a fairly reasonable price...

Best of luck and let us know how you get on!

Michael.

You may have to hurry, as I know that Michael has promised to return and engine crane which is presently in his possesion.

If you want to go to a Seven specialist who is first rate with Crossflows, call Ratrace in Barnet on 020 8216 5567
