caterhamnut
what is the best glue to use to re-fix the carpet which is falling off our cockpit and also in the boot (due to the damp I guess) I expect it is just normal contact adhesive? ta

sjwb
Evo Stik is a better choice where moisture is present I believe. Steve B
Graham Sewell
But can you then get the carpets back up if you need to??? A more radical solution is to use poppers - but I didn't fancy the risk of drilling through the wiring loom or brake/fuel pipes... Low tech luddite - xflow and proud! caterhamnut
evo stik sounds like the stuff. Should of said that it is the carpet that lines the side of the transmission tunnel that is coming off, as oppossed to the flooring. thanks for the help! I reply to every thread
You can Evostick velcro to carpet & car to make them removable. That's what I did when I had a car from the Dark Side.
John E
I've used the black hood males and females to secure all carpeted bits with no problems. Just have to be careful with the drill. At least it means that drying out is not a problem.
Casbar
Carpet Glue - Which I think I got from James Whiting. Worked ok, and was easy to pull carpet off again, if needed
AlShack
I've got industrial velcro on mine - does the job nicely. Cheers Al
Rob Walker
Foam backed carpet adhesive spray works a treat, spray it on the ali and on the back of the carpet wait a couple of minutes and it sticks well. if you want to remove it for any reason you can pull it of without spoiling the carpet. The adhesive can be cleaned of with cellulose thinners. Adhesive sprays are available from Wicks ,B&Q etc
