Little Bob
Switching from 14" minator spare to 15" Anthracite using the Y brace with two wheel nuts on the wheel, slide the T bolt through but the T hits the front of the wheel. Because of this there is no thread extending beyond the bottom of the Y brace to secure to the rear of the 7. Is there a longer T bolt for the 15" anthracites? If not what's the answer? mav
Shorten the spacer?
Little Bob
Its the 'T' that hits the edges of the centre hole on the wheel that is the limiting factor - trimming the spacer won't help C7 GTE
mav
Ah, on the bar on my car (I've got 16's btw), there is a spacer which goes between the 't' bar and the y piece.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted April 2, 2007 Area Representative Share Posted April 2, 2007 Have you thought about throwing the T piece away and using an ordinary bolt? Makes it a little more secure as you need a socket/spanner to get the spare off. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. Ray Pearce
Grind off the ends of the 'T' bar so it fits through the center hole of the wheel?
Little Bob
Both good ideas. But what do Caterham supply when the 15"'s are supplied with a new car? C7 GTE
JampJ
Not sure, but I think they use different brackets. Cheers J&J JFDI (Just F*****g Do It)
Simon Owen
I think I have all the bits from when my car had a spare wheel, the previous owner removed the spare which was for a 15" wheel so should be OK for you. Cluttering up the garage at the moment and no use whatsoever to me so you are welcome to the bits, just need to cover postage etc 🤔
Little Bob
Simon - that would be great. YHM. C7 GTE
