Support Team c7trp Posted March 28, 2007 Support Team Share Posted March 28, 2007 As a 7 Newbie I'm still getting to know the car... One of the radius arm bushes is knackered due to, I think, the bolt being loose 😳 I've pressed the old bush out and a new one (and bolt) is on its way. Should I refit the radius arms in the lower hole or back into the top hole (as it was built)? The car is a 2003 K-Series Roadsport. From past posts I believe I should go for the lower hole (!) for more predictable handling. However the build manual says upper hole  So which hole, top or bottom?
kart
Doubtless someone more knowledgeable will be along to comment in a moment but for what it's worth my 2006 Roadsport was built by Caterham Midlands with its radius arm on the lower setting. caterhamnut
Go for the lower hole Tim Make sure you get the correct bolt - I'm pretty sure it is a 'tough' one - it is pretty critical - 'loose' certainly isn't good (as you realise!)Â Lower hole does indeed give a more predictable feel with less 'rear steer' - the upper section is the 'comfort' setting - couldn't tell the differance in comfort to be honest, but much 'nicer' feeling rear end. Upper hole gave our car the feel that the rear was about to 'roll' past us as it overtook, when driving in a constant circle (large roundabout)Â www.mycaterham.com here Videos here 98,000 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car
Support Team c7trp Posted March 28, 2007 Author Support Team Share Posted March 28, 2007 Thanks both  After driving around for while with 6mm of play in the rear suspension I think I need MUCH less rear steer 😳 Edited to say, I've ordered new bolts. The original is well hammered, and I'm not convinced its the right bolt, as most of the bearing for the bush is threaded!  Edited by - Tim Pollard on 28 Mar 2007 20:15:
caterhamnut
Some are threaded and some not - Ours bolt through into a nut on the inside of the interior. www.mycaterham.com here Videos here 98,000 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car
