nickh7
Fitted Switch (got the correct one ) but the oil temps not registering, how can I test if its working? Thanks Nick h Its Yellow And Black and Makes me 😬here
Pelico
If you have a VDO gauge the apollo sender will hardly register. It is matched to the more recent Caterham gauges. Â Let me know if this is the problem I found a source that were able to match the senders to the old VDO ones.

Pelico
😬 Not that then. You can check the switch / wiring side by bridging the sender to earth, this should give you full displacement on the gauge.  The gauge earths through the apollo body, so you need continuity between the gauge, the apollo and the chassis, check that with a multi meter. Did you use PTFE tape or sealant on the sender ? Otherwise, perhaps a duff sender.
Pelico
Oh and obvious point. It does take ages to get the oil up to temp on a standard K this weather !!!! Mine is far from standard but does take a good 10-15mins driving.
nickh7
Thanks I'll try tomorrow, 30-mins you even after chasing down the AM Vantage and the F430 😬 still no temp  The Apollo is second hand so it might be duff, do you know if its the same as the water temp one as I have a spare. Its Yellow And Black and Makes me 😬here
mav
Typically the same sender is used for both temps Nick.

Mick Day
I ran a VDO gauge with a Caterham sender for oil temp. I calibrated it in some boiling water & discovered one had to add 50% to get the correct reading. So 70 on the gauge is 105 in the oil.
