RichardO
Absolutely enormous batteries normally used on trucks. 170Ah, 12 volt nominal Length 512 mm (just over 20 inches) Height to top of terminal 215 mm (about 8.5 inches) Width 222 mm (8.75 inches) Weight is 40 to 50 kilos - haven't got any way to measure exactly, but I can just about lift one - just not for very long! A *little* large for putting on a seven - and considering they weigh about 50 kilos each, probably not good for performance. But they are very handy for backup power. The ones I've got were part of a solar power demonstrator system. Cost over £100 a piece when new, yours for £35 each. Which is about the scrap value of the lead in them! Four available. Collect from Reading area, or from various motorsport venues over the next few months.... Postage not an option R Edited by - RichardO on 24 Mar 2007 12:52:
LazerBrain
Richard - would this be any use as a leisure battery for a VW camper? If so can I have dibs on one for my brother? cheers, Darren.
RichardO
Darren; they would work fine as leisure batteries. They have been used in quite a similar way to that up till now - give or take a solar panel or two being connected across them . Will measure some dimensions later so you can check if one will fit.
