Englishmaninwales
I have recently installed a DS system on my 1800 K, and find if I thrash the engine it blows oil from the conning tower filler cap/dipstick. I have maintained the oil level slightly low to see if this helps, and minimal oil goes into the catch tank. I have dismantled the cap and checked the o rings. The bleed outlet to the catch tank is tight, but the top with the dip rotates ( which I think it's supposed to do) but seems a poor fit and I think this is where the leak is, instead of blowing into catch tank. Is this normal? Should I expect the system to be oil tight, or is it a case of TADT sir? Is the belltank pressurising? (engine running sealed). Peter T
The top should not swivell when done up tight. New o rings should sort this problem out. Caterham sell this as the connint tower o ring oil kit, it comprises of the 4 o rings that are needed . *thumbup* It costs about £10. Where have you sited your oil catch tank? Englishmaninwales
Peter Thanks, I'll order a new set of O rings. I've mounted the catch tank low down in the chassis in front of the drivers footwell in the washer bottle mount, with the tank venting via a pipe under the car.
