Mim
Replacement block required for my circa 93 VX. Any suggestions of a possible source?

I reply to every thread
I know where there's a whole 16V Astra for sale for £550 if that helps.
Mim
Thanks for both suggestions, however I think a new block may prove to be the most cost effective route in the long run unless I can buy secondhand with some form of gaurantee. Any suggestions welcome?
EFA
Mim, I would suggest you buy a 2nd hand engine, salvage the block and bore it to 88mm, then use a set of forged pistons. Vauxhall never sold the block as an individual spare, they only sold short engines. Mim
Arnie, Do you know of any reliable sources for a s/h short engine? My first thought would be CCC mag or Exchange & Mart? Any better suggestions?
EFA
Racecar.co.uk, Findit and all the rest are reasonable sources. You could even end up with a spare head!
