jamiegb
Had just dropped R300 in for postbuild check at Millwoods and was pottering around Slimbridge when *eek* saw huge 3 masted tall ship sailing across country - well motoring to be more precise. It was the Kaskelot which has been in Gloucester and was travelling down the Gloucester and Sharpness ship canal ready to head out on the high tide. Amazing sight to see it going through the locks before coming alongside in Sharpness basin for refuelling and to await the tide.
Mike Oxbiggar
Jamie... Between the wars two submarines were taken up the Gloucester-Sharpness canal! On the surface, obviously Really! The CO of one of then was the son of the "Harbour Master" at Gloucester Docks. The Handbag's tucked up in the garage! Now - where did I leave my sheep? If this is paradise, I wish I had a lawnmower! jamiegb
It's a little gem and easy to get to the locks at Purton from junction 14 of the M5. They have a good website here
