davef
I'm thinking of doing one of the above trackdays - I haven't been to either yet. So which would you choose if you could only do one? Both are about the same distance from me, and I'll be traillering. Dave
mav
Dave, I'm biased - I live 20 mins from Oulton... I've never been to Pembrey (here), so can't really comment on it's merits. There are 2 days of sprinting following the trackday... Outlon is a fair bit longer, and is a quite challenging circuit, with some fantastic gradient changes, and cambers. It is listed as a favourite circuit by many top drivers... Edited to say, if i had done neither and I was not sprinting, then I'd choose Oulton Edited by - mav on 10 Mar 2007 10:39:
MikeW
Depends really. Oulton is by far the better circuit in terms of overall challenge, gradient change etc but it also takes a bit more learning and Druids in the wet can easily catch someone out!...which can be expensive. Pembrey has more run off and is an easier circuit to learn. First time on circuit I'd probably opt for Pembrey. If you have done a few track days already then Oulton MikeW Mega Grad Race No
Jude
Not many track day operators seem to use Pembrey so it's a rare opportunity to try the circuit. I understand that the spinters enjoyed it last year.... Geoff
A10ROX
Oulton is my favourite ... so Mav does that make me a top driver A10ROX:OK, its an R500 without the magnesium bits sump etc and only 205bhp!
mav
Only been out with you at Cadwell, so I have no idea how well you go round Oulton *tongue*
Les Ferdinand
I raced on them both last year, Oulton is a stunning circuit probably the prettiest in the country, however there are a few places where it would be easy to have a big accident. Pembrey is not a pretty circuit but Honda is a great corner and you would have to do something realy silly to hit something.
