90 degree speedo drive

While reinstalling the engine and box the speedo drive fell out and landed on the floor. (Only noticed after the whole lot was in place and bolted up). Can anyone tell me how the angle drive is secured to the box extension? The drive in the box appears to be held on with a circlip but I can't for the life of me determine how the angle drive stays put. Type 9 box.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks Kenny, From what you've said - I take it the base plate is attached to the 90 degree drive and is secured by the circlip? If this is the case I've broken the base plate off. I'll try and take the circlip out tomorrow.

Thanks again

The earlier ones had the base plate tacked very flimsily to the drive and would just detatch themselves........good luck, hope you sort it.

PS prepare to butcher some circlip pliers to fit, as extracting and re-fitting that bloody clip is the hardest job to do in the world........bet you swear a bit, I'm told I did.
