Is it dry sump?I think about 3-4 bar cold idle but when its hot between 2-3,but the type of oil can make a slight difference.Mine is dry sumped. EFA Posted March 28, 2002 Share Posted March 28, 2002 2 bar at idle is absolutley OK. >2 bar at 2000rpom when warm is critical. at 6000rpm hot you should have between 4 and 5 bar. kenny. Posted March 29, 2002 Share Posted March 29, 2002 I ran between 1-2 bar @1000 rpm tickover and about 3.5 bar driving when hot....these figures would drop/vary if Mobil 1 was used. I also noticed that car would only take a 3 litre aprox. fill, I put this down to sump foam holding the other litre. Yes I also ran a 5 mm overfill. stevefoster Posted March 31, 2002 Share Posted March 31, 2002 As many other posts will confirm about 4 bar at revs is fine. Use comma 5-40 SynerG for the VX it seems the best for tappets and pressure. The camcover oil breather mod as on SBD's site is good. I can run more oil and no more catch tank filling at high RPM. With the camcover off it is pretty easy to see what must be done if a little time consuming to get ALL the silicon sealant off.
