Jason Plato
Martin - read the earlier posts Rob Walkers lost power even with the larger 102mm inlet ( 102mm was used as this is a common size of kn filter ) do a search also for my cold air diverter plate - I think myles also copied it and listed it on his site . no point in redoing all the work that has been done by others and fit the ITG back plate on the ends of the trumpets not at the trumpet / spacer interface..... Peter T
Nice results Martin, very interesting to see how resrtictive the airbox was. Was the intake a fairly smooth run? or did it have some complex curves in it where you have routed it? R500 Mango Madness
Rob Walker
I do not believe to size of the intake is the problem, its the reflected pulses bouncing off the the inside of the airbox infront of the trumpets.
Jason Plato
thats what I was saying rob , but my engine made exactly the same power @ 247 with and without the airbox 9and 102mm hole) . It appears to be more than one issue or variable between engines depending upon cam spec etc etc .
oilyhands
It may be significant that Martins engine has 45mm DTH TBs rather than 42 and Jenvey trumpets. The inlet tract volume will be significantly larger. Oily
