Tachometer and M3D

Dave York

Recommended Posts

I have recently completed the install and initial starting of the 1.8K for my new caterham. THe only issue is the tachometer is not working.

I have installed a emerald M3D and the engine is set up with twin coil packs and waisted spark.

I have modified the originaal VVC harness to a single ECU plug configuration and the tach output wire is confirmed in pin 12 of the ecu plug.

Any thoughts?

Just confirm that your "pin 12" is on the bottom row, furthest away from the clip and next to the GREEN/PINK wire.

You could try running off pin 1. or pin 25 (white black) and get a half frequency count into the tacho, just to prove that the tacho works. It could be a pull-up, pull-down issue that depends on the tacho type.
