Painting the seven

Flying kiwi

Recommended Posts

I`m in the process of having all the wings re sprayed, and while they are in the paint shop i want to touch up some nasty scratches on the scuttle.

Can i just prime then spray the top coat. Or is it true that Ali needs etching before painting?

Maybe i should leave this to the Pro`s!!!

Mark.

Most good paint suppliers will sell you a suitable etch primer.

I used single pack ICI product that works with conventional cellulose thinner and is a very light beige colour. You can spray this in a very light coat and the results on my cer were very good.

I think you can also get a two pack product but the one I have seen is a dark green colour whic spays in a very heavt coat and is then difficult to cover with a light primer.

I painted my car in cellulose rather than two-pack as I thought it would be easier to fix any mistakes.
