Dickie Normuss
It says it's standard as per the tintop with 238 BHP, I thought they were 200 VX HPC - Loud and proud here Seek forgiveness, not permission. stephen grant
The S2000 was/is 238ish from a 2litre vtec but, as you say, I thought the CTR was rather less stephen Edited by - stephen grant on 13 Feb 2007 07:49:
DohNut
I guess the engine internals are standard but with a proper exhaust and throttle bodies and ecu re-map could explain the output N
Sandy
See also here I think the car was sold last year?
JKJ
It's either the effects of the throttle bodies, etc , on the CTR engine, or the engine from the S2000, which as said has 240 bhp. The original Jap import CTR, with the LSD, did have the 240 bhp engine as std. Mind , my son has the std CTR, and with air filter and Magnex, seems to have alot more oomph than std. dannylt
The JDM 220bhp engines apparently only make it on 100+ octane fuel, and the S2000 engine is quite a bit taller? Anyway, I think that one was sold ages ago but there's another one currently being built alongside my duranail which I'm keen to have a go in 😬. We had one in my wife's Elise and that was fantastic. mjdm
Sure I read somewhere that the S2000 was the first Honda to have an engine that rotated in the same direction as the rest of the world ? So maybe it's unlikely to be a CTR conversion... Mike
Stuart Faulds
It *is* a Civic Type R engine (K20A) - as Danny mentioned, I'm currently installing one from the same supplier. Despite being the same weight, it's a couple of inches taller than a Duratec which is looking like the main issue
Jason Plato
couple of inches taller blimey ! my 2L only has 6mm clearance on the bonnet with a 70mm sump clearance .
CHRIS CLARK
Good looking set-up, but is it my eyes/brain (probably!) but the picures on the original pistonheads advert show a left exit exhaust from the Se7en as per originally normal, but the engine shots show a right hand exhaust manifold. Picture reversed I thought but the Honda logo on the cam cover reads correctly. ???????????
CanAm
Chris is there another posting on this car. Either I'm suffering from deja vu, or somebody else raised the same question and the reply was that the l/h exhaust photos were before the engine swap as there was no stripe on the bodywork (But there was!)
