5sp Box

Due to the recent demise of my current box, i am looking for a

 

5sp SC Quaife or similar, 2.39 first, and OD top

may consider cheap Type 9 to get me back on the road!

 

this is to replace my 4sp which now sounds like the proverbial

bag of nails, any advice will be appreciated!

I have a BGH Rocket 5 type 9 if your interested. Ratios are

 

1st - 2.54:1

2nd - 1.65:1

3rd - 1.23:1

4th - 1.00:1

5th - 0.91:1

 

Email me if you are interested. Cost £850 in July 2000. Has had little use since. Complete with quickshift. Accept reasonable offers.

Conversion issues now in hand with Arch prepared to do the work!

 

I forgot to mention that the car is a xflow so will require a box with a long spigot

secondly is the 2.54 first welded, and what diff were you running with this setup

I ran this gearbox with my 165bhp X/F on a 4.44:1 diff = 44 mph in 1st gear (7250 rpm). As for welded - no idea what you are on about. Ring Brian Hill (BGH) on 01580 714114 and ask what you need to know. I've had no problems at all with it. Now running 4 speed dog box for sprints as never got out of 4th into 5th so waste of time carrying it around.
